Bob Allen, 87, of Kingman Route 1, died Sunday March 12 1972, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been a patient a few hours. Born Sept 8 1884, in Indiana, he was the son of Thomas and Jane Newnum Allen. A retired railroader, he had resided with a sister, Mrs. Minnie Perry, on Kingman RR 1 for several years. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Opha Cates of Covington and Mrs. Perry. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services were Tuesday March 14 at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Coopers Chapel Cemetery.

Cates - Bob Allen, 87, died at 3:40 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill, where he had been a patient a few hours. He had lived in the Cates area most of his life. Born Sept 8, 1884, in Indiana, he was a son of Thomas and Jane Newnum Allen. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Perry of Rt 1, Kingman with whom he had made his home for several years, and opha Cates of Covington. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with Rev. Alfred Dobbs of Veedersburg officiating. Burial will be in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
